At Sugar Moon Antiques, our antiques vary in degrees of condition.
We offer a variety of Annie Sloan products and workshops.
A small town business in the historical town of Hico in the heart of Texas.
We began in 2006 as a creative idea of Patricia “Trish” McMillin and the family partnership of her two sisters, brother and brother-in-law. Trish’s love for antiques inspired her to start a local antique shop in the historical 6200 sq. ft. C.L. Hardware building which was built in the late 1800’s in Hico, Texas.
In 2008 Trish became the sole owner of Sugar Moon Antiques. She wanted to offer customers a wide selection of authentic antiques and decided to bring in local dealers to share the space. After several years of hard work, Trish was successful in creating the foundation to support her vision of inspiring customers to create beautiful home spaces combining the old with the new. Her vision did not stop there. She wanted to inspire a simple, fresh, unique and comfortable lifestyle. We began offering Flax clothing. It was an immediate success and FgClothing.co was born. Customers were now able to order apparel online, by phone or in person at Sugar Moon Antiques.
In 2012 Trish began traveling to England to hand pick European antiques and treasures in order to offer even more decor options and inspiration to our customers. We have expanded our apparel offerings to include Jeanne ‘d Arc, a Danish clothing line, Born Shoes, Wallaroo Hats and handmade jewelry from various artisans. A trip to France is planned in the near future.
“Here at Sugar Moon Antiques we hope to inspire a simple, fresh, unique and comfortable lifestyle.”

Chalk Paint® is the unique decorative paint developed 25 years ago by Annie Sloan for furniture, floors and walls, drawing on a lifetime of research and experience in working with paint and color.
Chalk Paint® adheres to most surfaces and creates gorgeous results both quickly and easily. Use it for a textured finish, a distressed finish, a smooth contemporary finish or even as a wash!
What is Chalk Paint?
Chalk Paint® is Annie Sloan paint. Annie Sloan developed her now famous decorative paint, Chalk Paint®, in 1990. Back then, there was no paint available with the properties Annie was looking for, so she decided to develop her own. She came to choose the name “Chalk Paint” because it was suggestive of its very matt—almost chalky—finish.
Chalk Paint® is different. It is not simply paint with chalk added to it. It is not chalkboard paint. It is not made by adding plaster of Paris or grout or even baking soda to an existing paint. Chalk Paint® is the unique decorative paint Annie Sloan developed for furniture, floors and walls, drawing on a lifetime of research and experience in working with paint and colour. Chalk Paint® adheres to most surfaces and creates gorgeous results quickly and easily. Use it for a textured finish, a distressed finish, a smooth contemporary finish or even as a wash.
Chalk Paint® is a non-toxic, water-based paint that is lead-free, EG-free, odour-free and has very low volatile organic compounds (VOCs). There is only one Chalk Paint® but it offers endless possibilities.
